CompTIA Bridge Exam to Retire
In late 2008 CompTIA released an updated Security+ exam. Followed were updates to A+ and Network+ in early 2009. IT professionals who are encouraged or required by their employers to remain current on their certifications have had two options: They can take the new version of the exam, or they can take the CompTIA bridge exam, which covers the new objectives. As of December 31, 2010, the Bridge exams will retire. Any IT professional who wishes to update their certification must take the Bridge on or before December 31, 2010. After retirement only the full 2008/2009 exam will be available. Only professionals who are currently ;
- CompTIA A+ certified by taking 220-601 and one of the following: 220-602, 220-603 and 220-604 exams,
- CompTIA Security+ certified under 2002 exam objectives or
- CompTIA Network+ certified under the 2005 objectives
are eligible to become CompTIA certified by taking the bridge exam.
